RECIPE – Bacon Wrapped Tenderloin
I have tried for years to find a way to cook deer meat where it is tender and tasty. Yes, I do love the chicken fried way with gravy but sometimes the gristle just is too much and its tough. Deer meat is one of those meats where it is easy to overcook so you have to be very careful to check and make sure it is done quite often.
Here is what I have done lately to make some of the best deer meat snacks/poppers. These are so easy that you can pop them into the air fryer for about 4 minutes and they are DONE!
Here is what I use to make these the best.
Ingredients and Needs:
- Deer Meat cut small
- Bacon — your favorite (I use all kinds but love smoked the best for this)
- Your favorite seasoning— I use AlbuKirky Red Chile BBQ Seasoning for this. It is a little sweet mixed with the Red Chile for a little spice. So good!
- Your favorite dipping sauce — I use Buffalo Wild Wings Asian Zing Sauce. It is so good with the sweet and spicy and complements the Red Chile Seasoning perfectly.
- Need — Toothpicks and Air Fryer
Directions:
- Make sure the deer meat is cut into small pieces
- Cut the bacon strips into 3″ sections (1 normal piece of bacon makes 3 pieces)
- Wrap bacon around the deer meat and stick a toothpick through it.
- Coat the poppers liberally (top and bottom) with seasoning.
- Pop in air fryer for 350 deg for about 4–5 min or until bacon is done.
- sprinkle a little more seasoning on.
- Let cool for a minute and enjoy with the sauce.
Yes its that easy! You will love these anytime. If you have any deer meat left over or run out of bacon you can just go through the directions and cook without the bacon. The air fryer works so well and the meat is so tender!
Enjoy!
