GEAR REVIEWS

The GEAR we use and love…well maybe not all of it.  We talk about the GEAR we have and whether it is worth your while or not.  Honest and true reviews giving you details and the reasons why we would recommend or not.  Give us your opinion…did we get it right?

UltraliteSacks Dyneema Compression Sack

I had looked for a long time for a compression sack made out of Dyneema. Saving weight and space all in one. I finally found what I had been looking for right here. Check it out!

Outdoor Vitals Shadowlight Backpack

A superlight pack that is FRAMED! What we liked and what we didn’t. A true review from people who actually use the gear.

Expion 360 Aura PowerCap Bundle

We have been around the block when it comes to powering up our gear. I have tried so many different items in this category I think could write a book.

Well, I am not writing a book on this, but I am definitely giving my opinion on this unit after dragging it to over 18 states and 2 Canadian Provinces and 8000 plus miles.

Ultralite Sacks Zippered Cube Ditty Bag

The first piece that my wife (Gia) and I were able to put to use was the Fully Recycled Zippered Cube Ditty Bag.  This Ditty Bag is described on the website (www.ultralitesacks.com) as “Perfect for staying organized on backpacking trips or general traveling.”

So on this long day hike, my wife and I were able to try out the Zippered Cub Ditty Bag.

Outdoor Vitals Ventus Active Hoodie

On a recent adventure to Big Bend National Park, my wife and I were able to get outside and experience several hiking/backpacking trails including the Window, Lone Mountain and the South Rim of the Chisos Basin.  All in all, we hiked around 35 miles in a 3-4 day stretch.  That may not seem like a lot to some, but it was a great way for us to see a part of the park that very few get to see.

On this trip I was able to try out the new Outdoor Vitals Ventus Active Hoodie.

BruTrek Steel Toe 3.0 Travel Press

I have been through percolators, pour overs, French press and all kinds of coffee makers in order to make my life easier in the outdoors as all I want to do when I get out of the tent is to quickly make coffee, sit down and ease into my day.
